I will lift my eyes to the hills...

As ate dinner last night we saw how the mountains surrounding Ecuador are increasingly being encroached upon by people. The mountains appeared to be covered by a blanket of lights and construction work. These are the homes of migrants who have travelled to Quito seeking a better life, a hope and a future. Indigenous people, Colombians displaced from the civil war, Ecuadorians from other parts of the country, have all come to make their home and earn their daily bread here in Quito. We can thanks the Lord l that the United Evangelical Methodist Church in Ecuador is passionate about responding to the needs of this burgeoning population, of working alongside them in practical ways, in valuing their diversity and through this, sharing with them the Good News of Jesus Christ.
